You Have a Voice and Mad Skills: Serve Your Community and Run for Office!

Speaker Luncheon: You Have a Voice and Mad Skills!

Ever thought about running for office but not sure how to start?

Join us for lunch at Apres Diem in Midtown from 11:30am to 1:30pm! $30 Advanced Ticket. $40 at the Door.

Together, we’ll learn the skills necessary to get appointed to boards or run for office from Anna Foote, from NewPower Education! NewPower Education is a non-partisan nonprofit focused on educating and encouraging women to engage in all areas of public service in Georgia. Learn More about this inspiring organization: http://newpowereducation.org/about.html

Women, if we are not at the table then we will surely be on the menu. 2018 was the year of the woman: more women ran for public office and won than ever in our country’s history. Our voices and our experiences matter and we must step up and be heard in our own communities. There are literally thousands of neighborhood and homeowners associations, local and statewide boards and commissions and other policy boards that need your voice, talent and experience. Some boards require you run for a seat while other board seats are appointed by local elected commissioners, council members or other elected officials.

If this is something you are interested in exploring, you need to know how to position yourself and who to contact. Think you might run for office one day? This is where to start.

Empowered Women Empowering Women. Now that’s a slogan we can get behind!
